There are several factors related to the HPI business that enable it to compete effectively in the business of raising pigs. These include multiple site production to encourage high health and good growing conditions, they own and operate their own feed mill for better control of consistent high quality feed for the animals, live in an area where a lot of grain is produced and the operation is located between a number of soybean meal and dried distillers plants so inputs can be purchased on a competitive basis.
